Guardian Angel

Oh precious child of trouble and fright
Dry you tears on my shoulder this night

I will wrap my arms around you so tight
An protect you from harm with all my might

Never again shall you shriek in fear
From the monster of life that brought your tears

Let me hold you tight forever more
Until you feel comfort and safe as before

The bad days and nights are gone for good
For you little child, your fears are forever understood

A warm safe blanket of protection from the cold
And this soft sweet teddy bear, a friend to always hold

All doors and windows locked and checked each night
A ballerina light shall glow in your room against darks fright

This house you live now forever to keep you safe and warm each day
And each mornings will find you happy and gay

Forget all the fears of yesterday precious child
Now and forever, safe and protected, is your destiny sweet child

Night Shadows Part 11 “arms from the mist”

Night Shadows Part 11
arms from the mist…

Dusk has settled over the town and dark soon will arrive
Cozy little town shops begin to close for the night
A blur of white passes on the sidewalk
As the lights on the second floor above the shops light up

Just a quiet sound echoes off the concrete, their newness silencing her journey
Past all the familiar places she grew up with in her quiet little town
A right turn takes the blur of her new tennies down the park path
Many times before she has taken this route, never feeling unsafe

Just three more days and she will be gone from the quiet little town
Off to college to open her eyes to the rest of the world
A sudden breeze blows across her path rustling up dead leaves
Her jogging suit protecting against the chill air and the mist that begins to form

Streetlights already lit as she flies past the empty benches
She ponders all the adventures she will find away from home

But alas, he has chosen her, and her destiny has been etched in blood
Suddenly the fog moves in and the mist grows thicker

She stops, taking a sip from a park fountain, feeling a sense of eerie
Sarah, Sarah, a voices is heard from behind
She spins around to see who is calling her name

Who’s there”, she shouts, yet nothing but the rustling of unseen leaves beyond the mist

Startled, her pulse increasing with fright, she takes off
Three steps more, is all there would ever be for her on this path

Arms appear out of the mist, a face, then his body, draped in black
The mist carries her scream away as her body lifts, plucked from the path, then, no trace

He has claimed his chosen tonight
Once again no trace was ever found
Sarah awakes in a cold stony place, so dark
Her hands shackled to the stone wall

Morning breaks once again to the little town
A bright sun shines slightly warming the chill air
Many people are seen searching for any trace of Sarah
Towns people gather throughout the day in the park, mumbling of the mystery

A lone mansion sits at the edge of town
Ancient are the stones that have crumbled over time
An old family crest still visible hanging at the bottom of the steps
No one has been seen there in years, family past on, many years ago

Alone in this dark place, her screams will never be heard
Yet this prize seems different, she is still alive
Perhaps the little town will be safe for a time
A new queen he has secured for his pleasures

nights shadows…

Night Shadows

It is coming, you cannot hide, it desires you
The stars in the sky glitter with the coming
Turning daylight to dusk and beyond
Just another night in their little small town, perhaps

Darkness of night wraps on your door
Surrender to his calling, you have been chosen
There is no escape, nowhere to hide
Time to answer the call of your name

Shadows of the night become surreal
As the mist of fog covers the ground
These are its play things in the dark
Night has come, and you are his prey

A voice calls in the night breeze
You stop, turn around, was it real
A rustling sound in the leaves, frightens
You hear a step walking close, ever so close

You pause, inhale the crisp air deeply
You shiver and shake it off, nothing, you say to yourself
Yet the nights creepy feeling follows every step
Temped by its false feeling of freshness, you feel alive

Just a short walk through the park, you told him
“It’s a lovely evening darling for a walk”
“I won’t be long,” your last words
He stays behind to finish the evening dishes

The streetlights your only friend on this dark cool night
They flicker, drawing your attention, then nothing, just dark
A voice calls your name and moves closer
You scream and try to run, faster, you must escape

Darks mist surrounds you, invading your lungs
You stop to rest on an empty park bench, just a breath
He closes in and the fog envelopes you
Your scream is drowned by its thickness

You never returned home to your love
Police are called to search the park
“Are you sure she did not just leave you,” they ask
“No!” he replies franticly, and stares at them in disbelief

Voices and laughter are heard once again in the little park
Towns people meet for their morning walk along the quiet path
Park benches are passed one by one, empty, no trace
As daylight breaks upon the little town park, once again

The darkness once again has claimed its prey
Folks just shrug their shoulders and pass it off
Refusing to believe he exists in their little piece of heaven
Just another rumor, or kids prank, is what they all believe

Temporary Reality

So hard to believe, truly believe
This place you have found, your plan
Dreams, passion, desire, our love
All fade into realities uncertain game

Never thought of you leaving this life
Alone, wondering why I feel this way
Can your love remember how to
Take me back home, to begin again

Someday will be together again
Could it have all been just a dream
I’ll never give away your secret
Our love will confine any sin, sweet bliss

Your loves deceptive realm, forever hidden
Together again, leave my dreams behind, to rest
Let it all fade into the silver lining of clouds
I’m so alone, afraid, of what reality takes

All just a faded dream in the end
No one will know the secrets
We have found in a lovers land, beyond time
Wash away all my fears, exhausted

Leave this broken world behind
Dreams, dreams, it’s all just for memories
In the end, love renews itself in harmony
Everything else is just temporary, reality

Sedated Heart

Will you call my name again, my love
Oh lonely tune echoes evermore
I have waited long, alone, this single dove
Never your face can I adore

Waiting for you on the banks of before
For two long years I have waited
To hear you call my name once more
My heart now forever sedated

Take my hand my love, to that distant shore
Sweet solemn tune lingers, like times thinning threads
Your eyes I still see ever blue, was their lure
I have waited long, long my love, to rest my head

On the banks of life’s distant shore
Never more, never more, will it be
Our love in it’s mortal form, you swore
How many more years must I wait, set my heart free

Forever my living heart sedated

deja vu

As night descends upon this day
Darkness quickly taking over the light
I find myself again in that mood
Contemplating many reasons of why

Why do things change around me?
It often seems as if it happens too quickly
But in truth change reveals itself in slow motion
Our thinking is deceptive of it’s true meaning

No wonder life sends us messages of deja vu
We cannot escape what occurs around us
When the days become shorter, memories are triggered
Our attention gets sharper as we cycle another change

As if we are trying to catch up
Maybe stop this feeling in it’s tracks
But alas it is only life and we must move forward
I cannot continually hide in the past

With each change, each new season
I am carried further and further from the past
Precious memories become dimmer
I try to grasp them and hold on tightly

Then I stop and inhale deeply
Sweet, yes it carries a feeling of sweet freshness
And I remember his words as we walked
As if they were spoken only yesterday

Darling, I love this time of year
The air is crisp and fresh
My body feels alive, renewed, by the chill in the air
Come on dear, lets kick up some leaves as we walk

Shadows of Change

It’s slightly chilly as it enters my window
A feeling of new found freshness it carries to me
Brightly the light dances over the ground
Glistening off the leaves casting familiar shadows

I breathe in deeply its brisk coolness
Warning me of its coming change
I feel the change caressing my skin
Prickling sensations awakened from me

A clear message can be derived from its coming
As the days become shorter
And darkness falls sooner each night
Daylight falls later with morning

A feeling of en-between envelopes your soul
Like hidden eyes watching your every move
You cannot hide from its coming
Soon the chill will turn to bitter cold

It’s magic changes everything around you
The world as you knew it, takes on a new face
Green turns to orange, red and brown
Death is what it makes you think; yet it is not the end

My mind whirls with this change
A feeling of deja vu surrounds my thoughts
Before, I have been here before
It’s familiar touch has graced my being many times

Alone I sit and contemplate it’s true meaning
My mind drifts toward a long awaited sleep
But I do not feel tired, yet it persists
I think how, how can I stop this change, so cold

The shadows flickering on my window speaking to me
Their message is clear and quickly diminishing their dance
But I do not feel afraid, for it’s message is calm
The chill air slightly refreshing with a hint of newness

I look out my window once more to the dancing shadows
A hint of warmth still hanging onto each afternoon
Yet the change is winning the battle, taking bites out of the warmth
I inhale deeply the fresh winds of fall, announcing it’s arrival

Puppy Size
This is one of the neatest stories you will ever hear.  You will know precisely what this little girl is talking about at the end.
‘Danielle
Keeps repeating it over and over again.  We’ve been back to this animal shelter at least five times.  It has been weeks now since we started all of this,’ the mother told the volunteer.

‘What is it she keeps asking for?’ the volunteer asked.
‘Puppy size!’ replied the mother.

‘Well, we have plenty of puppies, if that’s what she’s looking for..’   ’I know . . . We have seen most of them, ‘ the mom said in frustration.

Just then Danielle came walking into the office.
‘Well, did you find one?’ asked her mom.

‘No, not this time,’ Danielle said with sadness in her voice.  ’Can we come back on the weekend?’

The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed.
‘You never know when we will get more dogs.  Unfortunately, there’s always a supply,’ the volunteer said.

Danielle took her mother by the hand and headed to the door. ‘Don’t worry, I’ll find one this weekend,’ she said.

Over the next few days both Mom and Dad had long conversations with her.  They both felt she was being too particular.  ’It’s this weekend or we’re not looking any more,’ Dad finally said in frustration.

‘We don’t want to hear anything more about puppy size, either,’ Mom added.

Sure enough, they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday morning.  By now Danielle knew her way around, so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs.

Tired of the routine, mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first row of cages.  There was an observation window so you could see the animals during times when visitors weren’t permitted.

Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a closer look.  One by one the dogs were brought out and she held each one.
One by one she said, ‘Sorry, but you’re not the one.’

It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup. The volunteer opened the cage door and the child carefully picked up the dog and held it closely.  This time she took a little longer.

‘Mom, that’s it! I found the right puppy!  He’s the one!  I know it!’ She screamed with joy.  ’It’s the puppy size!’

‘But it’s the same size as all the other puppies you held over the last few weeks,’ Mom said.

‘No not size . . . the sighs.  When I held him in my arms, he sighed,’ she said.   ’Don’t you remember?   When I asked you one day what love is, you told me love depends on the sighs of your heart.   The more you love, the bigger the sigh!’

The two women looked at each other for a moment.  Mom didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.  As she stooped down to hug the child, she did a little of both.
‘Mom, every time you hold me, I sigh.  When you and Daddy come home from work and hug each other, you both sigh.  I  knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms,’ she said.  Then, holding the puppy up close to her face, she said, ‘Mom, he loves me.  I heard the sighs of his heart!’

Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you sigh.  I not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day.
They are the sighs of God.  Take the time to stop and listen; you will be surprised at what you hear.  ’Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.’

I hope your life is filled with Sighs!

Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!  Life is too short and friends are too few.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.

Love the people who treat you right and forget about the ones who don’t.

What is this I feel now calling, darkness above
Anything at all inside
I hear your voice calling my heart, void of
Life, yet I feel your arms around me, tightening O’glove
Making love, from the other side

But it does not matter, how I feel
For your heavens a lie
I feel your voice within, a knife of cold steel
Release me from your cursed repeal
Set me free, from the other side

You call me in the night
Your breath upon the skin of darks bride
I call you in my heart, without fight
Nightly, it brings such misery, in life
You’re moving on the other side

Your love calls my death
Haunting my dreams at night
“I’m not alone,” calls my last breath
Will never be apart in death
My tears follow, on the other side

I cried aloud, trying to free my heart
All my tears have dried
You moved on through dark, forever apart
Feel my love calling, you to restart
Darkness drowning me, from the other side

As I ramble on this piece of paper
Haunting lyrics of our love to decide
Feeling your arms, sweet heavenly rapture
Trapped inside your smothering vapor
Falling, falling, taking me to the other side

You are closing up my eyes to dark
Your love is in disguise
Feeling your veins surround my heart
Embraced within this dark
Dragging me down, to your dark side
